About the Event

Calling all NYC musicians! The BlackBox Ensemble is partnering with Sound Off: Music for Bail for an outdoor, socially-distanced performance of Julius Eastman's Femenine, and we're inviting musicians from across the city to come join. Audience members will be encouraged to donate to Sound Off, an organization founded by BlackBox Ensemble member Jay Julio that organizes benefit concerts for bail funds. All donations for this event will be redirected to The Bail Project.

To participate in this event, musicians will simply need to fill out an interest form (available in the coming weeks,) and attend one zoom rehearsal session before the performance. More a musical "happening" than a performance, this event is designed to invite audience members to learn more about the legacy of Julius Eastman and musicians to lend their voices to a worthy cause.

Fill out this form if you're interested in joining us!
